About the Author:

Mahinder Kumar Jain, (M.A., D.Phil. D. Sc., F.N.A.) had been Vice-Chancellor, A.P.S. University, Rewa, and was a Deputy Director, Professor of Mathematics and Head of the Computer Services Centre at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Dr. Jain worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Institute for Applied Mathematics, University of Hamburg, West Germany during 1957-60. He had been a visiting research faculty/professor at the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London; University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, University of Karlsruhe, West Germany and University of IIIinois, Urbana, USA. Professor Jain is also the author of Numerical Solutions of Differential Equations, (New Age International Publishers).


Satteluri R.K. Iyengar , (M.A., M.Tech., Ph.D.) was a Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He had also served as the Head of the Department of Mathematics, IIT, Delhi. Presently, Dr. Iyengar is the Dean (Academic Affairs) and Professor of Mathematics at Gokarjau Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology, Hyderabad. Dr. Iyengar`s research specialisation is Numerical Analysis. He has a large number of research publications in National and International Journals of repute in the area of Numerical Analysis. He is a coauthor of a number of books on Numerical Analysis and Advanced Engineering Mathematics. Dr. Iyengar worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Oxford University Computing Laboratory, U.K. He was also a visiting fellow at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
