About the Author(s):
S. C. Gupta (born 1937) was universally Faculty Member, Hindu College of Delhi,
since
1963 and retired in November 2002. An eminent and dedicated teacher with more
than
four decades of teaching experience, he has written a number of books on
Statistics and Mathematics. He visited University of North Carolina at Chappel
Hills,
U.S.A. during 1970-1972 to complete his M. S. Programme. He is a very well
established
author of international repute, and reading, writing and teaching have always remained
his main passion.
